The Hollywood Reporter learned that William Monahan, Academy Award writer of "The Departed," is in talks with Warner Bros to adapt the Korean thriller "The Chaser." The project could also re-team Monahan with Leonardo DiCaprio, who is eying the lead role.

"The Chaser" centers around an ex-cop who goes on a mad hunt for a missing girl. Unsure if the girl is even alive, the hero ex-cop chases a serial killer who uses the girl to taunt the police.

The original film was a big hit in Korea, grossing over $20 million.

This would be the second time DiCaprio and Monahan collaborated on a remake of an Asian film.
