Carrie are a young girl with special telekinetic powers. She lives with her insane mother in a little town. Her mother, that live after some bizarre versions of Christian values, is real evil towards Carrie, when she discovered that the girl have reach the puberty. Poor Carrie is confused, because she does not have a clue what’s going on in her body. The “cheerleader-girls” of the school is not nice to her, and Carrie is being ganged up on in class continual. But she fined some support in a gymnastic teacher. One of the cheerleaders gets a guilty conscience and orders her boyfriend to ask Carrie out on the upcoming prom. Another cheerleader is planning a real bad joke on the same prom. How will this end up???

Brian de Palma have transformed Stephen Kings excellent novel to a very nice horror movie. You get touched by the young woman, and feel her hate for her own situation. Youngster can be so cruel. And everyone can relate to similar things in their own life, about the harassment that Carrie goes through. We have all seen it, done it or been exposed to it.

The movie is very nice filmed and have an extreme suspense rising all the time, as we gets closer and closer to the prom. And Sissy Spacek makes a great portrait of Carrie. It’s her biggest role ever.

It is fun to watch “Carrie”. It’s filled with people that later on in their carriers became famous b-stars. You recognize most of them. Except Spacek, it was only Travolta whom make it big.

And throw away a laughter or two, when looking at the late 70s fashion!!

The scene with Carrie all wet in blood, the red light from underneath, Thin and bony, she stands on the stage, and looking out over the chaos she have created. That picture is stuck in my head. One of the best image scenes from horror movie ever made. A brutal bride of blood!

It’s a very good horror movie, and I recommend it.
